This should give you back your old bookmarks (if you, like me, have about 7000 bookmarks you would hate to lose) ![]() Close all instances of chrome again, and find your way back to C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data -> find the 'default' folder -> delete any existing 'bookmarks' and 'bookmarks.bak' files there, and copy paste the ones from your backup (located in the default folder as well) straight over into the folder.Start a fresh chrome tab - to see if it resolved the issue.Close all instances of chrome, delete the original folder (might have to restart as well here, haven't tested). ![]() Make a backup of the user data (copy+paste the folder to your desktop).Hijacking this brilliant comment to say: there's a way to KEEP BOOKMARKS if you haven't synced your google account in a while.
